Through the Therapeutic Services (TS) team at the IRC provides mental health screenings. mental health referrals, and clinical coordination through our crisis and safety coordinator, clinical manager, and contracted therapist.

Services:

  • Connect clients to individual psychotherapy (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing, Accelerate Resolution Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-based Interventions, etc.)
  • Provide best practice for crisis prevention and response for clients experiencing safety, behavioral, and mental health challenges
  • Training on trauma-informed and culturally-sensitive practices to staff and community mental health partners

Through the Intense Case management (ICM) program, IRC provides comprehensive case management for clients who have greater vulnerabilities to connect clients to needed education, services, and resources to reach self sufficiency.

Comprehensive case management services including but not limited to:

  • Orientation regarding PC Program services
  • Intake Assessment
  • Design of Customized Self-Sufficiency Plan as appropriate for addressing the client’s particular vulnerability/vulnerabilities
  • Post-Enrollment Monitoring
  • Health and Medical Services Case Management.
  • •Social Adjustment Services
  • Mental Health Services
  • Services to LGBT Clients, Single Mothers and Women-at-Risk, Elderly Refugees, Youth, Survivors of Torture and Trauma and other vulnerable populations.

Referral & Application Requirements: Eligibility: ICM enrolls only individuals, not households or cases, so that it focuses on individuals’ needs. There can be multiple family members enrolled from the same R&P case, but individual enrollments allow each client to pursue their own personal goals for the program. Clients must be enrolled with 5 years of arrival into the US. Clients can receive up to 24 months of services within 5 years. Referral & Application Requirements: Eligibility: Citizens or nationals of Afghanistan (including unaccompanied minors) paroled into the United States between July 31, 2021, and September 30, 2023 Spouses or children of individuals in Category 1, paroled into the United States after September 30, 2023 Parents or legal guardians of individuals in Category 1, who are determined to be unaccompanied children All other Afghan eligible for ORR benefits and services (Refugees, Asylees, Special Immigrants, etc.) with an eligibility date on or after July 31, 2021.
